Rising Through the Ranks
Bishop Yonna Grossutti was born in Vancouver, BC, Canada to Korean-Canadian and Italian-Canadian parents in March 2013. She started tennis casually at age 4 while also doing gymnastics, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Taekwondo.
When the pandemic happened in 2020, she focused solely on tennis as it was the only sport she could play given safety restrictions. Since then, Bishop has excelled at a steady rate, showing remarkable dedication and improvement.
After competing in the Little Mo tournament in Florida in December 2023, Bishop was inspired to intensify her training. In January 2024, competing in U12 while still a year younger, she rose from 136th in Canada to finishing 13th at outdoor nationals in Montreal, representing Team BC.
Now ranked #24 in Canada and #3 in BC for Girls Under 14 Singles, Bishop continues to develop as a member of Tennis Canada's U15 Canadian Prospect Team, following in the footsteps of Canadian tennis stars like Félix Auger-Aliassime and Bianca Andreescu.
